Account by the brother of someone who saw this miracle first hand:
- "My brother, Father Gideon, he was in Holy Land. And he stay for two weeks very close to the Holy Tomb. A couple of days before easter saturday, he had an appointment to meet with Patriarch Diodorus. And when Patriarch Diodorus came, Patriarch Diordorus took him by the arm into the tomb on Easter Saturday. When Father Gideon put his hands on the stone where Jesus laid, on Easter Saturday, he could feel like the stone was wet and cold. And immediately came something like a ball, a holy fire come, like a ball, it started to play between the fingers of his hands, it went everywhere between his fingers. He doesn't feel a burn from it. He doesn't feel burning on his fingers. He feels happiness, he was feeling like a little boy playing with zachick, like when the sunshine reflection is played on things with a mirror. He feels very happy. And when he just take a candle, and put a candle there, the candle immediately started burning from the fire. And he went out of the tomb after Diodorus, he gave the fire from the candle to the people. A woman who was a visitor from Israel, put the silk of her scarf on this Holy Fire, but her scarf did not burn. You can see this on a movie that a friend took of the event." - Story as told by [Aleksandr Kharon], brother of Father Gideon, an abbot from Abalaksi Monasteri, the very northernmost monastery in Siberia, between Tumane and Taborsk.
